Personal Wireless with Bluetooth

If you already have a wireless network for your computers, you may be very interested in what’s coming next. Would you like it if your PDA, your mobile phone, your mp3 player and almost everything else you connect to your computer could be wireless too? It’s already a reality…

Personal Area Network.

Using wireless networking with your personal gadgets is often called PAN, which stands for Personal Area Network. The idea is that, in the future, we’ll all have laptop computers with their batteries charged and no more need to connect any wires to them at all — you just place your Bluetooth device near the computer, and the computer sees it and can use it straightaway.

Bluetooth has been around and in-use since 1999, and it’s only getting more popular. It was designed to be secure, low cost, and easy to use from day one.

There are two classes of Bluetooth that are in popular use: class 1 and class 2. Class 2 is the most common and cheaper standard, allowing you to use a device that is up to 10 metres (32 feet) away. Class 1 is rarer, but you can still find devices that use it easily enough, and it has ten times the range: 100 metres or 320 feet.

How Does It Work?

Bluetooth is more flexible than 802.11 wireless networking, in exchange for the shorter range. Essentially, a Bluetooth-enabled computer has one Bluetooth receiver installed in it, and this receiver can then be used with up to 7 nearby Bluetooth devices. On the other end, wireless devices do not need to have Bluetooth installed if they support it — it is already integrated.

Like 802.11, Bluetooth works by using radio signals to create bandwidth. It is not, though, the same thing as an old-style wireless mouse or keyboard, which required a receiver to be plugged into one of your computers’ ports, and didn’t have range or stability anywhere near that of Bluetooth.

Many computers now come with built in Bluetooth, especially Apple Macs. If you want to add Bluetooth to a computer that doesn’t come with it pre-installed, you should probably use a USB to Bluetooth adapter, although internal Bluetooth devices to install in your computer are available. If you have a laptop and a spare PCMCIA slot, you can get Bluetooth cards for that too.

What Can You Do With Bluetooth?

Mobile phones with Bluetooth are very popular, and so are PDAs — the instant synchronisation of addresses and calendars to a computer is a useful feature. Other than that, almost anything that would usually use USB can be done using Bluetooth, including digital cameras, mp3 players, printers, and even mice and keyboards. If you take a look through the comprehensive list of Bluetooth ‘profiles’ (kinds of devices that could, in theory, be Bluetooth enabled), it includes cordless phones, faxes, headsets, and even video.

Basically, more than anything, Bluetooth is a replacement for USB: some say that while 802.11 wireless networking is wireless Ethernet, Bluetooth is wireless USB.

Not Just for Computers.

Part of the power of Bluetooth is that it isn’t just used to connect things to computers — it can be used to connect almost anything to anything else, if both things are Bluetooth-enabled and recognise each other.

Mobile phones, in particular, take advantage of this. Hands-free headsets often use Bluetooth to communicate with the phone. Some cars, for example, now have on-board computers that will connect with a Bluetooth phone and allow you to make hands-free calls, regardless of where the phone is in the car (even if you’ve left it in your bag in the trunk!)

On top of that, of course, Bluetooth devices can communicate with each other. This has led to some people sending messages from their Bluetooth PDAs to others in close range — not an especially useful feature, but quite fun. This is called ‘bluejacking’, and the first recorded instance of it was a man who sent a Bluetooth message to another man’s Nokia phone while they were in a bank together. What did the message say? ‘Buy Ericsson’.

Since then, it has become possible to send images by bluejacking, and it is widely believed to be the newest advertising medium — yes, it lets billboards send messages to your phone, a practice known as ‘bluecasting’. Whether you think that’s cool or annoying, of course, is your choice.

Japanese Escomatic Machining House Seeks Sales Reps for Marketing in USA and Europe

Shibue Seimitsu has appointed Suwa Precision Engineering in
Singapore as its international sales representative and seeks
sales reps for USA and Europe.

Suwa, Nagano, Japan 8/Jan/2006 - To extend its marketing into
international markets, Shibue Seimitsu Co., Ltd., a specialist
in escomatic machining for over 50 years, has appointed Suwa
Precision Engineering in Singapore as its sales representative
for the overseas markets outside Japan and China.

Established in 1951, Shibue Seimitsu has specialized in
escomatic machining of miniature (diameter 0.3 to 6mm) precision
complex profile parts with tolerance of +-20 microns parts and
burr-free finishes for the electronics and watch industries.

In escomatic machining, as the coil stock is fed through the
machine, it is straightened, and then moved into bushings that
are the same size as the stock. The bushings support allows the
escomatic machine to hold a very tight concentricity for the
length of the part. The continuously fed self-straightening coil
stock reduces the turning needed to achieve the desired
diameter, and also leads to less wasted material, less down-time
for reloading and therefore lower cost.

“Escomatic machining has excellent repeatability throughout mass
production. Our ISO9001 certified factory operates 24/7 to meet
your production requirements with minimal workers. We focus on
complex profile escomatic machining of part such as hinge
components for cell phones and micro motor shafts, ” says
Toshiaki Shibue, President of Shibue Seimitsu.

Says Ken Yap, Director of Suwa Precision Engineering “We hope to
help Shibue Seimitsu reach out to new customers and even appoint
other sales representatives in the States and Europe.”

About Shibue Seimitsu Co., Ltd. Shibue Seimitsu is located in
Suwa, Japan, home base of major corporations such as Seiko Epson
and Nidec Sankyo. The company specialize in escomatic machining
of connector pins, micro shaft, micro motor shaft, insert pin
for insert molding, and rotary hinge components for mobile
phones, printer head parts, terminal pins for automotive
connector components, watch parts.

About Suwa Precision Engineering Pte Ltd Suwa Precision
Engineering Pte Ltd is the marketing office for a group of
precision engineering manufacturers from Japan, China and
Singapore. These manufacturers have more than 40 years each in
manufacturing precision products and components such as stamping
dies, precision metal stamping (deep draw and high speed),
precision turned components and miniature balls from diameter
0.1mm, precision gears and pcb in small footprint (1mm by
2.5mm).

Pigeon Forge Motels

Motels became prominent in the United States after the advent of
the interstate highway system simplified cross country travel. A
motel, or motor hotel, is a lodging where visitors park outside
their rooms and enter through a door leading to the parking lot.
This is different from a hotel, where travelers enter through a
lobby area and do not have as easy access to their automobiles.
Motels can be more convenient for many travelers, especially
families with lots of children. Motels are also usually less
expensive than hotels.

Though motels are often more economical than hotels, they are
not inferior. Many motels offer the same amenities as hotels,
like Jacuzzis, on site swimming pools, and cable TV. One thing
that motels usually don’t offer is an on-site restaurant, but
many visitors would prefer to eat away from their lodgings
anyway.

Pigeon Forge is designed in a way similar to Las Vegas, with a
central strip featuring a majority of the town’s lodging. This
setup means that each establishment must compete with its
neighbors for business, providing better accommodations and
amenities at less cost to the consumer. Another advantage is
that all of the cities attractions are also close to the main
strip, so nothing is too far away. Aside from the main strip,
many Pigeon Forge lodgings are located closer to the Great Smoky
Mountains and other private areas, providing more privacy for
romantic getaways.

There is a vast array of available Pigeon Forge lodging like
motels that can accommodate large families or travelers on a
budget. Motels offer convenience and comfort for visitors at a
lower cost than hotels.

Are YOU Ready for Bonza Bottler Day?

BONZA BOTTLER DAY is any day when the date and the month have the same number. Bonza, I’m told, means “excellent” or “really great” in Australian, and there’s some suggestion that “bottler” means the same.

Bonza Bottler is a “just because” kind of holiday, started a decade or so ago by the late Elaine Fremont who believed the world needed more holidays. On BBD, we are called to let loose, just for the joy of it, and Ms Fremont’s original wish was that we celebrate without alcohol or other artifical stimulants. Celebrate using just our natural ability to be joyous — even in hard times, letting this part of ourselves play out . . . come out to play. Think of Snoopy, dancing madly to music maybe only he can hear. Think of Shrek and Princess Fiona, giggling and roughhousing as they walk through a field.

Wicki, our Boston Terrier, is a great believer in “just because.” She loves to wrestle with Dudney, our 12-year-od cat, and we, in turn, never tire of watching the two of them pouncing and leaping and rolling around. Dogs and cats are not supposed to play together — their styles are too different, says Conventional Wisdom. But for nearly 4 years now, cat-dog play has been a regular and delightful aspect of our family life.

If they can do it, why can’t we? Play, that is. Just because. Take time out from the Tasks of Life, step aside from our accustomed ways of being, and Celebrate. Why? Just because. May you enjoy your own Bonza Bottler Day. This month. This week. Why not today?

Where Do Your Visitors Come From?

Some people might think it is silly for me to ask you where
your visitors are coming from. Folks suppose it is silly
because they do not think too much about where there current
visitors are coming from. Instead they are more concerned with
where the next visitor is coming from.

Well, let me share a little secret with you. To better determine
where your next visitor could come from, it is important to know
where your current and past visitors came from.

This is the deal. With all of the available advertising
resources available to us, some work well and some do not work
at all. The resources that have worked for us well in the past
will continue to do so.

For example, if you run an ad in an ezine, you might get
hundreds or thousands of hits from one ezine. The truth is
that since that ezine is of a limited size, you will only get
a certain number of visitors from the one ad. Each ezine in
and of itself has limited value to you, but there are other
ezines of a similar nature out there.

The trick is to find what works and stick with it. If an ad on
one website generates substantial traffic, that same website
will continue to generate similar traffic over the long-term.

Our greatest advantage in the Internet world of business is
that we can use technology to effectively track our advertising
methods and locations. By looking to the past, we can put
ourselves on a solid footing to build for tomorrow.

Simply placing ads wherever we think might do the trick is a
sure-fire way to drain your advertising budget in a hurry to
no benefit for you. It is far better to study what works and
then to use that information to build on your successes.

First Step In Credit Repair - How To Conduct A Credit Report Check

The use of credit today in the purchasing of food, property, assets and services is prevalent. There is hardly anything of value that cannot be purchased in part or in full by the use of credit, or a credit card. Whether it is to finance a home, or a car, or simply paying for a dinner or a holiday vacation abroad, credit is acceptable, convenient and useful.

However, the wide use of credit does not mean everyone who makes use of credit knows how to use it with wisdom. Credit, like the proverbial fire, can be harnessed for good or it can be like wild fire which can burn you and cause wanton damage.

Credit scores affect every aspect of our financial lives including qualification for loans and mortgages, the interest rates we pay, employment opportunities, and even insurance premiums.

Therefore, the first step towards credit repair is to know your credit standing. This means getting your credit report. Even if you do not suspect anything amiss in your credit, it is important for you to establish your credit base by getting a credit report. In this way, you can check whether there is anything reported wrongly in your credit report and can have things rectified.

This first step is also to ensure your identity is intact, that your identity has not been stolen or hijacked. This is a proactive step by a concerned consumer to ensure that there is no chance for identity theft or identity errors and eliminate the chances of being victimized by ID fraud.

If there is inaccurate or incorrect information in your credit report, you need to get them addressed and rectified. You will need to understand how to submit your valid personal disputes to the credit reporting bureau so that they meet their requirements and warrant a timely response.

Once the credit bureau legally remove inaccurate information from your credit report, this will improve your credit scores, and establish your credit standing.

As this process may seem complicated to some, there are credit repair companies who will work on your behalf if you choose to appoint them.
Some law firms and real credit repair companies draw upon their vast arsenal of credit report repair strategies and experience to challenge negative items directly with the credit bureaus.

If you have not check or verify your credit report for some time, it is needful for you to undertake a periodic check on your credit score report to ensure it is correct and there are no inaccuracies in your credit report.

Outdoor Kitchens - Simple and Sophisticated

After September 11, many of us decided to stay closer to home. We are electing to remodel our existing homes instead of buying new and moving. We are also entertaining in the backyard more than ever, so it is a natural progression to take what we love about our hearth and home and put it all outside creating the perfect outdoor room. If you have never thought of installing an outdoor kitchen before, it is time you start thinking about it. You don’t need a backyard the size of Southfork to create an efficient, fun outdoor kitchen of your very own.

When it comes to designing an outdoor kitchen, the sky’s the limit. Everyone can have gas or charcoal grill at any price in their backyard. When you think about adding a wine cooler, outdoor sink, appliances and bars, you are talking about something altogether different. You are only limited by your imagination, and for most of us, the budget. What type of entertaining do you enjoy? Do you have a large family? What is your favorite method of outdoor cooking? Is food preparation more of a priority or do your friends like to sit around the bar and socialize? Do you have a pool or hot tub that you want to incorporate into the area? Would you like to build around a focal point such as a fieldstone fireplace? If music is a consideration, what about an outdoor sound system? If you live in a hot climate such as Arizona, should outdoor misters to be part of the plan? If ease of cleanup is an issue, do you want something that can be cleaned with a garden hose? Would you like a gazebo or some type of partial screening for privacy and weather protection? As you can see, there are a lot of things to think about during the design process. You want to consider all of your options before you make decisions because things may not be the easiest to change midstream.

An Outdoor Kitchen Northwood’s style
My husband and I live on a lake in the north woods so the outdoor kitchen plans started with how our guests could best enjoy the beautiful lake view as we were cooking and entertaining. We have a boathouse and many tall pines and white birch trees that must be considered in the plans. I wanted a dramatic entrance of well-lit timbered stairs leading from my home down to the outdoor kitchen area which encompasses a patio of cut flagstone. We don’t have room for an outdoor fireplace, but every lake home needs a fire pit, and ours is set in another section of the yard that we use more for fun and late night conversation. We have a copper fire pit on the patio for warmth and ambiance on a cool Wisconsin evening. We decided to take advantage of the boathouse and extend it out as partial protection from the elements for the cooking station. My husband prefers cooking with gas so we installed a built-in grill with warming burners. We have a sink and refrigerator close at hand, also protected by the extension of the boathouse.

My patio is filled with Adirondack style patio furniture. We have a rope hammock swinging between two tall pines. A wonderful bistro table and chairs sits close to the cooking area so we don’t have to carry the food very far and an outdoor bar is near the refrigerator so it’s close to ice and drinks. We have a gentle slope down to the lake that is terraced with perennials for color and foliage. More split timbers were placed for extra seating as part of the patio’s backdrop. We installed lights below the trees so our yard would be lit in the evening, creating a festive mood for parties. Our guests enjoy waving as the boaters go by, or finding out how the fishing is for the day. There is so much entertainment on the lake; even if it is just watching the mallards or loons swim by for an occasional visit.

You don’t have to live in the Northwoods to have a beautiful outdoor kitchen. You can install something right next to the house or close to a pool. You can make your outdoor entertaining experience as elaborate or simple as you wish. Just think about how nice it would be inviting your friends over to enjoy your famous barbecue ribs under the stars or relaxing on a warm summer day realizing how good life can get.
